As I reflect on my decision to join the Canopy team, I have zero regrets for me or for any of my family members that stand side by side with me in the business to continue to deliver our amazing roofing experience to our customers.

My name is Adam Vaillancourt, founder of Adam Vaillancourt Roofing, the first company to join the Canopy platform. I’ve been working with Trivest and the Canopy team for over two years now, and I really couldn’t have asked for a better partnership.

When I started the process of finding a roofing platform, a big challenge was overcoming the stigma that comes along with partnering with a private equity firm. Due diligence is paramount because there’s a lot of horror stories about companies joining the wrong group and it becomes a nightmare for the founder as well as the employees.

Over the past 15 years I’ve built a strong company with a cohesive group of employees who mean the world to me. Partnering with the right platform was vital to me because I needed my people to be in good hands. I didn’t want a group to come in and change everything we do, essentially ruining our culture.

That hasn’t happened. In fact, one of our top priorities is being the employer-of-choice, not only in our industry but in our area. The Canopy leadership team is committed to making a positive impact for our employees, they came in and improved our benefit packages and ensured our wages were in-line.

The focus from the beginning has been about being the best company for our customers and employees. Finding other companies to join us is a priority, but finding the right companies is an even bigger priority. Canopy is not just looking for good roofing companies, but for great roofing companies that fit our vision and values. Creating, in my mind, what is and will be the most morally and ethically aligned roofing platform ever.
